Centering the mission and history of the Hunter East Harlem Gallery (HEHG), the gathering honors its longstanding relationship with the Silberman School of Social Work and its deep ties to Harlem’s creative ecosystem. Through participatory workshops, artist share-outs, and interdisciplinary conversation, this initiative offers a (re)introduction to the HEHG as a vital site of cultural engagement and expression. 

By highlighting diverse artistic voices and practices—from emerging to established, and across generations—this convening creates space for reflection, inspiration, and hands-on creation. It is both a tribute to and a re-activation of the Uptown arts community, reaffirming the gallery’s role as a hub for critical inquiry and collective imagination.
